Return and Refund Policy

Return and Refund Policy

At Split Spectrum Art, every piece is handled with exceptional care and attention. Because of the unique and delicate nature of artwork, we do not accept general returns or exchanges. Returns are only accepted in cases of damage incurred during shipping, and in most instances, a claim should first be filed with the shipping carrier’s insurance provider before any refund is considered.

1. Terms of Return

We do not accept returns for reasons other than damage during shipment.
All damage claims must be reported within 7 days of delivery.
If more than 7 days have passed, we may be unable to process the claim.

2. Condition of Return

For any eligible return, the following conditions must be met:

  • The item must be in the same condition as received, with no signs of further damage or alteration.
     
  • All original packaging and materials must be retained for inspection by the shipping carrier.
     
  • Clear photographs of the damage and packaging must be provided to support the claim.
     

3. Reason for Return

Returns are only accepted for items that arrive damaged in transit.
We do not offer returns or refunds for:

  • Buyer’s remorse or change of preference
     
  • Color or size differences due to display variations
     
  • Custom or commissioned artwork, unless damaged during shipping
     

4. Shipping Insurance and Damage Claims

All shipped artwork is insured through the carrier.
If an item arrives damaged, the first step is to file a damage claim directly with the shipping carrier’s insurance provider.

Split Spectrum Art will assist you in this process by providing:

  • Proof of shipment and insurance details
     
  • Documentation or photographs needed by the carrier
     
  • Guidance on the claim process
     

In most cases, the refund or reimbursement will be issued by the shipping carrier, not by Split Spectrum Art.
Only after the carrier’s claim process is completed, and if no coverage applies, will Split Spectrum Art review alternative resolutions.

5. Refund Process

  • Refunds or replacements are considered only after the carrier’s claim review is completed.
     
  • If a refund is approved, it will be reimbursed to your original payment method within 5–10 business days after approval.
     
  • Shipping costs for returning items are the buyer’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
     
  • If a replacement is available, it may be offered as an alternative to refund.
     

6. How to Initiate a Return or Claim
